Answer #1
found this on google :
I HAVE THE SOLUTION.
This happened to me and i called a dell support guy and he fixed it!!!
This is what you do...
Start the Run Command Prompt
Type in "regedit" without the parrenthesis then click ok
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Then SYSTEM
Then CURRENT CONTROL SET
Then CONTROL
Then CLASS
Then find {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
The whole thing looks like this:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Then delete the upper and lower filters....
RESTART YOUR COMPUTER THEN THERE YA GO!!!! HOPE THIS HELPS

Answer #8
actually i use laptop and do not know how to remove my dvd..the situation become worse..it took very long time for me to boot my laptop..and this symbol appears “_” and blinking before window start..do you think this is virus?
Answer #9
Usually the DVD-ROM devices are automatically detected and they’re just plug&play, but you may want to try installing drivers.Windows 7 can mess up your OEM information when doing updates maybe.Go to your DVD-ROM’s manufacturers site, and look for a driver.If there is one, you should probably make your Windows 7 recognize your DVD-drive.If there is no driver available, try contacting them via e-mail and tell them about your problem.
The long-time boot is probably because Windows is trying to identify an unknown device and can’t come up with a definition.
