My computer won’t boot up

August 5th, 2016

I had to make a new account on here to post this as my computer saved my passwords for my login.
Anyway I tu. It on and it goes to a black and whitescreen asking me how I want to boot, I have tried all the options like start windows nor
ally and boot in safe mode and run windows from last known config however it just boots up back to the same screen. Please help I can’t get onto my computer.
Thanks and merry Christmas.

Answer #1
Could be a ram issue.
First try removing the ram and then putting it back in again. Also if you have more than one stick of ram then try 1 stick at a time..
Report back how this went.

Still sounds to me like it’s most likely ram at fault. Download memtest and boot with it to test the ram.

if you have your XP disk you can do a repair install which will not harm your data
google “XP repair install” for info
I’d also recommend doing a disk check 1st
boot to your XP disk, hit “R” for repair console then type
chkdsk /f
