Linux mint terminal commands!?

hey guys been using mint for a while now but i dont really use the terminal, Could anyone be so polite as to tell me what are some of the basic day to day commands i can use and must have programs for linux, thanks

i honestly can’t think of any commands you’d need that you can’t do in the gui.
just wait until you encounter a problem, try and resolve it in the gui (with the help of documentation or Google) and then if not, check the man pages available online or in terminal (type man infront of a command to get the manual and parameters/flags for it)
as for must have programs, i’d recommend the same as any other machine – jdownloader, vlc media player, foobar2000 for music, opera/chrome

Mint doesn’t have any custom commands. Linux is Linux. The commands you have at your disposal depends on the version of bash installed. Most if not all distros have the same commands. The only commands different for a distro would be their package manager’s commands.

I’m installing backtrack to for the first time. Didn’t have a lappy before so never had much use for it.
Backtrack will be fun for wardrive sessions.

One of the great things about linux are there are so many different flavors that are all free to download and try…
