Laptop RAM usage, fan constantly high

September 5th, 2013

Hey guys, so I just wanted to ask a quick question. I have an Asus N53JQ with 8GB of Ram and an i7-Q740 processor. recently, my RAM monitor has been showing a steady 27-28% constant RAM use. In addition, my fan constantly seems very hot. I know the fan is supposed to cool down the system, but I didn’t know if this was excessive and possibly tied to the RAM usage.
The only apps I run constantly are Kaspersky IS 2012, Firefox, and DropBox. Aside from that, the only other programs are whatever the laptop came with when I got it (less than a year ago).
Thanks.

ram or CPU use ?
check task mgr and see what’s using it
Answer #2
Ram use. CPU hovers at like 5%. I’m getting the reading from a Windows 7 Gadget. May not be right I guess…
Answer #3
Go check wtih task manager and see which programs are using a lot of your memory.
Also, you could use something like tune-up utilities to free some ram but removing unused processes.
Answer #4
check task mgr and see what's using it
this will also tell you the amount or ram being used by each process
27% is no big deal
7 uses available ram for anything it can, which is a good thing unless you are running out of ram
