[SOLVED]CPU usage constantly at arround 60% to 70%

hey guys, i have been watching my CPU usage for a while, and have noticed that is now constantly at arround 60 to 70%. when i check my task manager, none of the tasks are taking up that much CPU power. i am a 4 month old HP DV5 laptop. this behaviour has started about a day ago, when i have installed the new SP2 update from microsoft. Other than that, there were no software or hardware changes, any advie on how to bring the CPU usage back down to its normal 5 mabe 4% level??
edit: my ram seems to be fine, its at a normal state

Make a screenshot of the taskmanager, cause the cpu ussage has to be there in the taskmanager

For laptops its kind of normal.
What programs are running in the background?

there are the pictures, i only have MSN messenger running in the background

Have you ever used DTaskManager I love it it replaces the windows one for me…
With it (not sure about windows task manger) you can see how much CPU each process is using as well as the Mem Usage of each process
Any new processes showing up that weren’t there before?

windows task manager does the same thing, doesnt it? have alook at the pics above, mabe the layout is different. no, its the same processes i had there before, thats waht got me worried lol.

Have you done a virus and spyware scan?

It doesn’t really show much. The Opera looks like a suspect.

wow… i simply restarted my comp, and everything is back to normal. i guess it did the trick. thanks guys, i guess it wasnt that serious after all lol.
