Usage for high spec smartphones (hardware)

February 5th, 2020

Who is the market audience for high spec smartphones and typically what are they using it for? I know with high spec computer hardware it appeals to gamers, power users, enthusiasts, and businesses but what are smartphone users using their high spec processor and ram for? I’m new to smart phones and have little experience with them but why would I need a quad core 2.5Ghz processor with 2GB ram?
Answer #1
You got it, gaming.
The newer games have some optional quality settings that only top of the line hardware can support.
Answer #2
The average market would be “people who don’t know what to do with their money” and they are using it for browsing / using facebook and phone calls. If you want a reasonable answer as to why to own a smartphone like this, it can replenish a lot of desktop works and become a second office solution for you, without neglecting the entertainment factor. I have a Lenovo P780 and use it for reading/ series watching (as a tablet replacement) and also writing / taking notes , emailing, navigation, betting online, listening to radio / news etc.

Also, some android iterations are not as well optimized as others
But yes, mostly gaming, and showing off
Answer #4
Most people will buy it for show off. They will never use the full potential of the new phone. Probably cant tell the difference (speed) from the previous phone they had. From what I see… They buy new and flagship phone just to watch youtube and go on facebook.
Personally… I buy the new phone for business. I like to have good speed when doing multiple things at once when I am not at my home office.
