Iphone 4 running iOS5 locked HELP!

I have a huge problem.
I just bought an Iphone 4, it turns out that it is locked to Vodafone and is running on iOS5. I have tried to downgrade it many times but it has failed every time from iTunes 2005 error. I have tried to restart my pc but it don’t work. I have tried to put it in DFU mode but I still get error 2005 from iTunes. I don’t know what baseband I’m on. When i put my sim-card in the phone it just says that “Only compatible SIM cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iPhone. Please insert the SIM card that came with your iPhone or visit a supported carrier’s store to receive a replacement SIM card”
I have no idea how I am going to get the phone to work?!

First you need to find what firmware you are on, to do this go to settings –> general –> about and scroll down to the bottom, the firmware you are on is under the heading “modem firmware”. (Note if you are 04.11.08 you can NOT unlock your iPhone, sorry!! but you might be able to downgrade it).
Jail Breaking –
Once you have determined your firmware use Redsnow 0.9.9b7b to Jailbreak your phone. At the moment Redsnow 0.9.9b7b is the only software which can Jail break the iOS 5 but it will be a tethered break!! By jail breaking it you will also be able to activate the iPhone without the need to connect to iTunes. Redsnow 0.9.9b7b can be downloaded from:
http://www.~Disallowed~/file/hE5hGDZ/redsn0w_win_0.9.9b7b.zip
Just download and install, then follow the on-screen instructions on how to jailbreak.
Unlocking –
Once your iPhone has been jail broken, you can use Ultrasn0w to unlock it. To do this just read the instructions at the following site:

But I have got the 04.11.08 modemfirmware.
Do you know how to downgrade it and what I should downgrade it to?

You CAN’T unlock 04.11.08 BB, and NO, it’s not possible to downgrade it!
You are SOL (ATM)!
What if I got my iPhone downgraded to iOS 4.3.3 is there a way then?

NO SHSH Blobs = NO Downgrade/Upgrade/Restore
And one more thing (I will repeat myself) IT’S IMPOSSIBLE to downgrade BB!
Then how come there is so many sites that tells you how to do? I have not tried but I think it sounds wired

If you don’t believe me.. be my guest and pay them…. They earn lots of money from people like you… (ignorance is a bliss)!
No I know that there are scams out there but there is also many sites that just tells you step by step how to downgrade it. Think I’m a little ignorant because I just spend a lot of money on the phone.

There is no tutorial for downgrading BB…. That is IMPOSSIBLE! You can downgrade FW only if you have SHSH Blobs saved…. without that it’s IMPOSSIBLE!
And ultrasn0w can unlock only….
Then lets hope that there is a new version of Ultrasn0w on the way. Thanks for your help
