Now every so often it cuts out for just a second and then its back, normally i wouldnt notice, but when im gaming i tottaly lag out, and skype tells me my internet is slow.
Im not on wireless.
Anyone any ideas ?

Answer #1
Sounds like a router issue.
Try updating the firmware.
Answer #2
yea i did that already did not help me :/
Answer #3
Could be an ISP related issue, they may be experiencing outage in parts of their network or are performing some sort of upgrade. There should be forums relating to local ISP news in your country? May want to pay them a visit and see if users from the same ISP have similar complaints.
Answer #4
Yeah that was what i was thinking, im gonna give them a call later, and post the results
Answer #5
if it’s not a ISP issue and you have updated the firmware,
you should check how old the router is… my router is old-ish and it does that too me sometimes.
Answer #6
no i called them up, and they looked into the modem, wich didnt have any timeouts for the past week.
Checked my router trough my moms laptop, pinged google like 100 times no timeouts. (cmd)
While on my computer i have random timeouts sometimes 1outof4 sometimes even 2outof4.
And the router is pretty new as well (tplink TL-WR1043ND)
Im thinking it might be my cable thats causing the problem, could this be a possibility ? because i still have internet the cutouts are really random.
Answer #7
Try using a different port on the router, you can also try changing the cables from the modem to the router, and your router to your pc.
You can also see if there are any updated drivers for your ethernet card.
It’s just hit and miss diagnosing issues like these, until you find the cause.
I was getting dropouts the other day and couldn’t figure out why, until I found one of my dogs had slightly chewed the adsl cable going to my modem

checked my whole network, the problem cant be on my end, tried diffrent cables, tried directly on the modem and the problem doesnt go away.
isp also says its not their problem, but their sending by someone next week to fix it, thanks for the help people ill keep u posted
