Dlink Router Cuts off After half hour

January 21st, 2020

Can anyone help me with this problem please?
My Dlink router will stop working after different periods of time.
Example: I could turn my router on and PC and use it for about half hour and the internet would stop, although the lights on the router are all green still. Unless I either pull out the ethernet cable and put it back on it would work that work again for about 10 mins but if I turn the router off and on again, let it all boot back up again the internet would work for another half hour.
The strange thing is, it never happens when Im on Xbox Live (through ethernet).

Answer #1
You could possibly have a faulty ethernet port on the router or a faulty network card in your PC. Have you another port on the router you could use? For example my Netgear router has 4.
Try plugging your PC’s cable in your Xbox’s port and see if it drops out then. If it still drops out try getting another network card for your PC.

If Im on Xbox Live and someone is on the PC, the internet always works then. It never cuts out when 2 ethernet ports are being used.
