I will do a fresh format on my friends PC… but

he doesn’t have he’s motherboard driver anymore… (got lost probably)
the motherboard is asus A7V8X-X
can i use this instead?

No need to worry , just format it and wen its installed go to google or its official website. You will find all the drivers.

I have another PC to format.. but I dont know what brand is the motherboard… is there a way I can find out the brand without removing the motherboard from the case… and assuming I can still boot it…

cpuZ will tell you what motherboard it is. after that go to the manufacturers site & download the drivers from there.

There are hundreds of programs to use to detect components.
I use CPU-Z
Everest
then just google the motherboard model and you should get the driver software. Or check the manufacturers’ website.
