I Think My Wii Just Bricked!

January 24th, 2020

Hi, i just followed a guide on the net that this guy said before updating to 4.0 to Install the IOS61 and IOS60 making sure to select patching out the trucha check.
So I did that and then installed 4.0 Firmware Update from 3.2U and then it downloaded all these IOS’s like its supposed to installed all of them, finished installing everything, and said press any button to restart, i pressed A and then the screen goes black, i reset the wii, and now boots to a black screen.
How do i fix this?

restore your nand, you did do a bootmii back up right?
before modding your wii, in any way including updating (in 4.2 nintendo bricked wii on purpose), you should make a bootmii of your nand, i have mine saved on my pc and on my usb flash drive if my wii every crashes.
if you did not, get a gamecube controller and a brand new game to fix to wii.
btw waninko bricks wii all the time btw.
plug the gamecube controller into your wii (make sure its the 4th port), and as you turn your wii on, press every botton on the gamecube controller, it will boot your wii into service mode where you can update your wii, it will load the new software off the wii game you have inserted so you need the latest game with the newest firmware update on it, good luck.

no i didnt do bootmii backup, im trying to do the savemiifrii method but no luck. i have taken apart the controller to get to the dpad, because it said i need to hold up-down-left-right at the same time on it, and it will do service mode. No luck guys i sent it to nintendo there going to do a “full repair” so hopefully they swap me wii’s
