I have a corrupt RAR but I dont need all the files….
December 20th, 2013
I had to back-up my whole PC so I placed all the files I wanted to keep into one folder and then pace them into 3.7GB RAR files, all PART numbers. Well, when I try to extract them, I get “header is corrupt” and CRC errors in some of the rars, I don’t really need all the files so is there a way to just extract the files that are OK without WinRAR cancelling the whole extraction as soon as it reaches an error?
Please suggest some software! As I said, I’m not looking for somthing to repair the archiives, just a tool to keep extracting even when it reaches and error.
Right click the first part,Click on “Extract files…” and enable “keep broken files” then extract.
For future cases you’d be best keeping backups as-is (non-compressed) onto another partition, internal or external hard drive.
Discs are not as reliable,Also,You should stick to quality brands such as Verbatim (Only the made in taiwan ones tho).
On a side point, Taiyo Yuden are the best discs in my opinion, they have been bought out by JVC.
These are the ones I get, never had a coaster.
