How to update Windows 8 to 8.1?

August 7th, 2016

I installed Windows 8 via WBB but now I need to upgrade to 8.1.
I found this link:
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2421169,00.asp
But my question is my situation different since I installed Windows 8 via WBB here?
(Also, I should mention that my Windows 8 is NOT activated.)
I can not figure out how to activate it.
The product keys that I use are all blocked.
Anyway, how should I proceed?
Thank you in advance.

First do a search here for “KMSpico activator” that will then get your windows 8 copy activated
Then wait until Microsoft re-open downloads for windows 8.1, as there were a few issues with the update, or, someone might post the 8.1 update here, but its 3.6GB, so it wouldn’t hurt to download the fresh Windows 8.1 from a user here seeing as you’ve just done a fresh install of Windows 8
Please PM if you’re still stuck
Thanks

@ – I figured it out via another thread. Thank you! However, regarding the 8.1 update, I was asking in another thread without much feedback if it was even worth the trouble to update my system…? What do you think?

Hi
Well in my honest situation, I’m using MAC OS X and i only use Windows 8 via a virtual machine, so I’m going to stick with Windows 8.0 as I’ve got the Start8 program to help navigate with the start button as per previous Windows editions.
So i would stay put on windows 8.0 if i were you too, if you really do miss the start button, I’m sure there are cracked copies of “start8” on here, but unless Microsoft tells you too, staying on 8.0 shouldn’t be a problem.

Well, support for 8.0 will only be for two years so… I guess I have two years to decide. There does not seem to be any compelling reason to switch whether it be security or new features or whatever. So, I guess I will stick with 8.0 for now.
