How do i merge srt and avi fies?

Hi downloaded The beautiful country and gained the subtitles else where on the net. I have them in the same folder but my divx player wont play subtitles. I have searched the internet, found some software where i can type in line by line, without exhausting myself (quite new at all this) I’d like to know a simpler way if any?

Download vlc player and install it http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
Make sure your movie and srt file has the same name: tbc.avi and tbc.srt
Play the movie with vlc player and it should work.

yes m8 use VLC player easy and working. just download subtitle apply as

oops what if my subtitle file are in two separate files, I cant name the same

Wow impressive media player… is there anyway I can sync the subtitles, as they are just a little our of whack

press g and h or g and f to fast forward or slow the subtitles during playback

You can use subtitle workshop ,but the easiest way will be downloading other subtitles that are already synced with your version.
