Answer #2
Thanks for the input. I will search Paragon now
Answer #3
actually Acronis Disk director is more reliable, other software have a higher risk of damaging the hdd
Answer #4
I don’t think so…but….I would wait and see what others say
Answer #5
Ohh really? I can’t loose any data from my full T drive. That would be disaster. I am copying files from E drive to usb drive, so i can start operation.
Further help appreciated
Answer #6
I use partition magic, no errors at all here.
Note that ALL of these tools wil take ages to merge the partitions is there is little free space (no free space may make it impossible to merge) on either part. You’d be advised to prune some stuff (what you can do is burna 4.5G dvd of stuff, delete it from hd, merge the parts, then put it back from the dvd).

Hey
My T drive is 488GB and 32.8 is empty. Do you think is ok? Pls stay with me for a while
Answer #8
you should always back up important data before making changes to your partitions.
you want a non destructive partition tool like Partition Magic or GParted.
Answer #9
How can i back up 488GB? They are all plug ins, no private data. I better install everything with fresh win Of course try partition prg first
Answer #10
Yeah, 32G should be ok – PM needs space to put things temporary while it modifies the partition tables.
PM does back up itself while it’s doing the job (not that you see the backups – what I mean is it copies data, moves data, erases the copy and the original, and repeats), but bad stuff still happens, like power failures, etc..
Note that this will still probably take an hour or so to do
YUP – backing up 488 gig is impossible.. LOL!
If it’s REALLY important to you, buy another drive – they’re cheap now, a 500G is about $90 Aud.. copy all the stuff to it, merge parts on the old drive, then copy it back… AND you’ll still have a big drive to use!!
Answer #11
I got call from very beauty young lady… Partition will wait
Thanks fo help
Answer #12
Any of the Paragon or Acronis suite can do it, don’t bother, just pick one.
My fav one is however, Acronis, but it’s up to you. By the way an SATA2 500G drive is worth 70Euros down here…
