How can I downgrade from windows 8 to windows 7?

July 31st, 2016

Hi I wish to downgrade from windows 8 to windows 7. Before you start saying you can google that I tired and came up with no answers but to get windows 8 pro which I have no money for. I need to get rid of windows 8 because even with start 8 its still sucky. Can’t record windows 8 with fraps or screen share on skype.
I get some error saying I am in gpt mode or something. I heard of changing to mbr to install windows 7 but how? oh and what does MBR mean over gpt? I can’t do mbr because windows 8 is installed on that partition unless I can use my desktop and use my laptop hard drive to change it to gpt because my desktop has windows 7.

Haven’t you read my post yet? I can’t. I will show you what I did like this by showing you a video on youtube. Now I did like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSAFrjcFWkE Go to 0:50. I went to the custom(advanced) and when I did I click on Driver options (advanced) and I reformat the partition. After that I went to install windows 7 and a message came up bout something bout the drive in gtp mode or to change it to mbr or something like that and then after it went like a normal windows 7 install except it didn’t get that far and froze so I had to reinstall windows 8 from a disc.
EDIT: I don’t know if this helps but my laptop came with windows 8 and my laptop is a lenovo z585 with the a10 chip.

During the installation when you get to the select where to install stage( Edit: thinking back it may be the option screen before that, but as long as its done before installation takes place.) you need to open a command prompt (CTRL + F10) type diskpart.exe, then list Disks, then Select Disk * (* being the disk to convert to MBR), then convert MBR, when done close command prompt and continue install.
diskpart.exe
list disks
select disk * (*being disk to convert to MBR)
convert MBR
Alternatively if you have UEFI bios you could change BIOS settings and leave it as GPT for UEFI boot
Answer #4
You may need to disable secure boot / uefi bios side before you can deploy a new os , if the machine came packaged with W8
