HELP! Packaging a Wine Bottle for Posting?
July 31st, 2013
I’ve gotten my Girlfriend some things for Valentines Day,
1 of them being a Bottle of Sparkling Rose Wine,
anyway, im away at the moment so I need to post these items to her,
we’re both in the UK but im just a little worried about the Wine Bottle.
I have a cardboard box,
inside the box I have a few other items and the Wine Bottle…
(but I dont want to use a Wine Box as I want to keep them all together)
Would it be ok to post if everything in that box is tightly put in there,
nothing ‘loose’ and then Bubble wrap tightly put in there aswell?
so would the Wine Bottle be ok if its, not jammed, but tightly placed between a Teddy and loads of Bubblewrap, so nothing will be loose in there?
Obviously i’ll put ‘Fragile’ as large as possible on the packaging itself,
not that it makes much of a difference considering the last item I sent (glass Vase) had Fragile on it and it turned up smashed to pieces!!!
But if I put Fragile on the packaging, and everything in the box is tightly in there with Bubblewrap tightening it together more and protecting it….
would that Wine Bottle be ok? even if it does get moved around alot, with it being ‘Sparkling Wine’, would it still be fine packaged that way? it wont fizz and the top wont pop off etc?
A quick response would be appreciated as Saturday is the last day I can get everything I need as it has to be despatched Monday for her to get it on Tuesday (Valentines Day)
Thanks alot.
EDIT:
Just to note, the Wine Bottle will be in the box on it’s side!
(might make a difference?)
Wait, you for really?
You don’t know what to do and you asking US?
This is crazy!
Anyway… If you googled a bit instead of writing bunch of BS… you could find something like this..
http://www.wineschoppen.co.uk/acatalog/complete_transit_boxes.html
http://www.postandpackaging.com/acatalog/bottle-boxes.html
I’ve already looked on the Royal Mail Website and some other Websites actually BELIEVE IT OR NOT!!!
and the reason I came on here is because I usually get straight forward answers that are helpful,
and believe it or not I already know about Wine Boxes and so on….
thats not what im asking about.
Im simply asking whether (if anyone has done this before) has put a Wine Bottle in with other items,
and whether Bubblewrap will do the job….
like I stated, it will be packaged with other items but tightly packed, so no loose items will be in the box,
I also read that Posting it on it’s side is better..
So again, im asking whether posting the Wine THIS WAY, as I described, will be ok,
as in… not using Wine Boxes.
(but thanks for wasting both our times with your comment)
Crazy indeed woot
gizmo87 y don’t u jus drive to where ur girlfriend lives and giv the wine and stuff
Because im away in work… which is where I am right now,
hence the reason I thought i’d ask on here to get a quick simple answer but it doesnt look like thats possible this time.
no worries anyway, thanks.
Not sure whats crazy about it though really, Wine Boxes have been mentioned but I clearly stated that a Wine Box aint being used,
simply asking whether it’s acceptable to post the Wine Bottle in with other items using Bubblewrap as I want to keep it all together in the specific Valentine Box,
not have all the items in there and then a Wine Bottle posted separately,
but like I said, no worries.
There shud be uk Internet company’s out there that send wine bottles.
No problem, got more help on Facebook,
this Thread can be moved…
thanks.

If you are sending it via Royal Mail or Parcelforce, that won’t make a difference as your parcel will not stay the same way throughout transit.
It’s just the luck of the draw if they decide to play football with your box, or if you use a reliable courier it can still get broken.
I’ve often found that fragile stuff packed with scrumpled up newspaper survives better than being tightly bubble-wrapped.
