Getting a perfect dvd rip?

August 3rd, 2016

What settings should I do?
I’m using magic DVD Ripper, and there are 2 options; Wide Screen and Full.

Answer #1
chec out slysoft anydvd and dvd shrink. used them forever and always worked perfect. also the are both very small and easy to use
Answer #2
This one is easy too, I just need to know the settings.
Answer #3
For your two options you need to set the one appropriate for your store bought dvd. If the movie is in widescreen format choose that, otherwise choose full screen. If you choose the wrong one the end result will either be stretched thin or squashed flat. for example [..]4x3Full screen and[….]16x9Widescreen If you tryed to put the first one inside the seconds format it would stretch to the sides (two dots to four) and everyone would look short and squat, if you put the second longer one inside the first everyone would look tall and spindly.
I agree with the above comment though, I also use a combination of Anydvd (not free) to remove protections with DvdShrink (freeware) to resize if needed. If you want a full dvd on a double layer disk (8gig dvd9) with all the ups and extras, just tell DvdShrink no compression at all (or put 100% in the little box instead of the % it suggests for a dvd5) and it will rip your dvd to the hard drive or copy it to disk. If you install Dvd Decrypter (freeware) before DvdShrink, it will see it and can use it to burn your disks for you.

The DVD ripper detects which it is on it’s own. I’m just downloading scenes.
I just need to know which settings for each one.
Answer #6
bump ya up since i couldnt help. maybe somebody can. Good luck
Answer #7
DVDFab = way better.
Answer #8
What said. DVD Fab ‘perfectly’ copies a DVD bypassing all copy protection to date and it includes all the chapters.
Answer #9
Does dvdfab allow you to pick exactly what parts of the movie you want? Like placing marks. That’s why I live Magic so much.
Answer #10
Alright, so I downloaded Aimersoft and am having trouble with it. When making a rip; I set all the things up to maz but the volume is off sync. This is for regular AVI.

Dvd decryptor and AutoGK is pretty much the gold standard of hq dvd rips.
