FRAPS recording VLC screen size goes full?

January 27th, 2020

When I record using FRAPS with something playing on VLC, even though the video is set out normal size, when I record it shows the video plus all the windows in a black space, records the entire window rather than just the video, any ideas how to fix?
Answer #1
as far as I know fraps will only do full screen
search apps section for “record” there are some apps in there that can be set to just a portion of the screen
Answer #2
Are you recording a live steam?
Use this

Answer #3
No, I have a video loaded, .avi
with WMP it works perfectly, recods the size it should, as soon as I do VLC it record the full screen size
only reason I’m not using WMP is because I only 2 parts of 4, extracted them and used the half video thats extracted, doesn’t play in WMP but does VLC
Answer #4
Why on earth do you need to record a playing video file?
Answer #5
Because I want certain parts
Answer #6
If u want certain parts u can use windows movie maker or easy video splitter. Simple to use man. U can split the videos and stuff
Answer #7
Can’t because the video isn’t fully extracted, so it wont load
Answer #8
with WMP it works perfectly, recods the size it should, as soon as I do VLC it record the full screen size
there an “overlay” option in VLC, like “fullscreen on or off”
what format is the video ?
AVIdemux might be able to open & trim it
you can also try installing the Haali media splitter and see if WMP opens it
Answer #9
Where abouts is this overlay button? I read that on google but I just couldn’t see anything :\
