Depends what is on the iso.

It’s safe if that’s what your asking.
However, it needs to be decompressed in order to be burned/mounted (in iso format).

What size does it end up as ?
If you have fast spec pc then it will probably be a lot faster than that.
Why do you need to convert to isz anyway ? There may be easier solutions to solve your problem.
*Edit – you need UltraISO anyway, as EZB invented the isz format

I couldn’t be bothered to do that all the time, it would be easier to wait for hdd pices to drop back to normal about April and get a bigger one.
Don’t forget to backup your files as well

gaming dvd.. just wondering why uploader dont compress the iso files first??
Answer #12
But they do: The usually RAR the ISO files, right?
However, you’ll probably find that most ISOs do not compress quite as much as your example (6 GiB to 4.5 GiB). Often, the contents on the DVD are already compressed and compressing them further is often a futile errand: You won’t get a noticeably smaller file size.
Anyway, have you considered whether the ISOs are worth all that space? If you insist on keeping them, you could also burn some on DVDs.
