Cmd shortcut

Hi , i was wondering , i have that programmed installed called 3CX and when i do Run and type tel:xxxxx it launch the program then call automaticly , So how does it work so that windows know that when i type “tel:” it has to call the program? It is somewhere in the registry?

Control Panel>Default Programs>Associate a file type or protocol with a specific program
