Can Windows 8.1pro activation screen be stopped?

I have tried to look for a way online, like going to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform\Activation and changing some value, disabled C:\Windows\system32\sppsvc.exe by editing some other registry (couldn’t touch it from the control panel) and nothing works, the thing keeps popping up.
I just want this damn screen to stop popping up and ALT TAB’ing me from whatever I’m doing (playing games ), is there any way to stop it? I guess I’m going to have to install windows 7, this forum post is my last resort .
