Browsing For A Remote Assistance Software

November 20th, 2013

Ok so far I’ve come across VNC (All versions) & Team viewer but they just don’t cut it for me. I’m looking for something that is simple yet is also fully configurable & customizable to the end user. I guess I’m looking for an Enterprise suit ?
There was one that I liked, It’s called HelpDesk VNC 3.1 and they’ve just released a later version 3.6.
http://www.helpdeskvnc.com/modules/features/index.php
I’ve only had the pleasure off being on the receiving end of the software but I really liked the one click connect & how simple and fast it was. All I did was clicked a link than the other person was in control off my PC. I watched him for about 6hours no lag, transferred files easily and fast, had a session timer with drop down box with quick links to tools & useful software.
Main feature’s I want:
Single Click
Router & Firewall Friendly
Auto Reconnect & Reboot and Auto-Reconnect in normal mode or safe mode.
Only required to be installed on my computer
Fast, Smooth, No lag, fully configurable & customizable to end user
Clean GUI (User friendly)
Thanks

TeamViewer has all this ^^

You do know what safe mode is right? Guess not.
Swiftkidd replied: Only required to be installed on my computer
I want windows to work on my computer, but not be installed. Its just not going to happen.

That depends on the speed of your connection, and the speed of your partner’s connection; not the software.

TeamViewer has all this ^^
Slow and lags also SC as in only installed on one pc so hardly router & firewall friendly. GUI sucks.

Safe mode with Internet connection yep.

UltraVNC & Helpdesk vnc both allow 1 side install

my connection speeds fine and software does influence that.
Thank you for your time. NEXT ?

Safe mode with Internet connection yep. Software is not installed so not required to run just an outbound connection to allow user to connect to them

Hey I do not ask for much, Did I mention it has to be free ? the features asked above seems reasonable clearly helpdesk vnc has them so I’m guessing others do to.

Teamviewer has never been slow for me,It’s all about the connection (on both ends),Downloading files/torrents at the same time
can negatively affect it too,And yes it’s most certainly router friendly,It requires no port forwarding as the connection comes from
their servers as reverse and not directly,And it’s beyond me why you don’t like the GUI,It’s simple and easy to grasp and looks
pretty good too.

But.. it requires to be installed on both sides (with ids/passwords).. plus has the whole time out if not connected in 15seconds. I only want Single Click / One Click no teamviewer thanks

What is so complicated in installing it? I’ve done it dozens of times on PCs I worked on and there’s really nothing to it,I ever guided ppl on how to do it over the phone and they found it easy enough themselves,Set that aside,Teamviewer is partly portable,When you run the setup it asks if to install or run it directly,You only need the other person’s ID & Password to connect,Very simple,The ID is static and remains the same (til an OS reinstall),The password by default is a random 4 digits number but you can easily change it to a static one (this will also require you to have teamviewer start on startup so only advisable for own use of course),Pretty sure you can also create a free account and have a list of IDs/Passwords saved too,Tho I haven’t used this function myself,I think your being way too demanding to be honest,There’s nothing wrong with teamviewer.

Ok, maybe I didn’t make it clear. I don’t like Teamviewer dude stop tryna push it on me this is why I never find a descent a VNC cause people keep suggesting Teamviewer.
Complicated for me – No, Complicated for other persons – Yes. Single click auto connect is much simple and faster. no hassle directing friend here to download install etc etc and if person actually had virus how much hassle is that to try and connect, download & install from the Internet whilst being instructed on how to do so. so no. NO TEAMVIEWER
Answer #10
Dood you can not remote control any computer with out installing software on it. If that was possible, you could just remote control any computer you wanted at any time. Stop and think about what your saying, lol. If you think other software allows that, you have a wild imagination.
Only thing that works with no install is RDP in windows, but that requires port forwarding.

I’m sorry but that’s just BS,I’ve had lots of em (complete noobs) download, run, and install it under 2 mins over the phone,Then I just asked em for the info and that was that,I usually give em the site’s IP and not address,Simplifies the process,Never had a problem,No idea what your talking about in regards to viruses. Hope you’ll find what your looking for,But honestly I think your demands are just too high,Teamviewer is simple enough as it is.

Helpdesk VNC & UltraVNC – You compile an exe send it to the other person which clicks & that sends an outbound connection allowing the support to access the computer. If that’s RDP then yes. I didn’t do no port forwarding when receiving support for 6hours plus.
@Roberto400 – Scenario, Person has malware, adware, spyware, jokeware virus and requires some support. Virus is slowing down their computer & tampering with their Internet connection, start menu’s, hiding desktop icons etc.
No time to explain & mess around downloading and configuring team viewer plus send across id’s and passwords. Single click VNC send an exe and connect ?
Edit: also no messing around with firewalls since it’s an outbound connection allowing access in.

And this is relevant how exactly? Your gonna have him download something either way,If his OS/Connection is that badly screwed,You won’t be able to help him remotely at all.
Answer #14
I was going to suggest radmin as well.
I don’t think your going to get what you wanted here, swiftkidd.
Nobody is aware of anything that meets your requirements (which are strange in themselves)
and obviously haven’t had the problems you’ve had with other software, and quite frankly, neither have I
My company uses radmin, but that costs money and requires an install at both ends, server and client

Tried Logmein Rescue?

We use it at work. There’s a free version available but I don’t know the limitations it has.
