Bridged Connection To Router Issue

September 5th, 2017

I have a laptop at my window for best connection, taking neighbors internet. Bridged connection, taking a wire to my laptop and my router to give my router internet.
It seems my router likes to DC alot, as I have kept things on all night and they disconnect on my desktop but on the laptop they are fine for days. Also tested this on other computers on the network.
Any ideas, how to fix?
-Sorry forgot to include that THEY DO KNOW, i am using their internet. in return, i fix their computers-

Let me get this straight, You are using someone elses connection as your primary (without their consent) and you are shameless enough to actually complain about stability problems? Unbelievable!

Pay for your own connection (rather than stealing bandwidth) ?

Thought i included the fact that I bought their router for them, aswell as they DO know. Sorry….
Cable company says i owe over 300 dollars, when i dont. they shut off my internet and kept charging me when i was disconnected completely.

Ok – sorry for any offence caused by intimating you were a thief. Some posters don’t have a clue what they are going on about – just like yourself !
Can you now explain what the hell you are going on about after the fact you are using your lappie as an AP (Access Point)
(ps. your lappie will like DC (Direct current) if it is running from an adapter)

ah ok. since they know about it.. yep a free pc repair man is always good to have on hand. What kind of router is it? Does it have repeater mode? It probably does.
Put your router in repeater mode. and thus avoid having to bridge anything. Repeater mode.. basically it will connect your router directly to their signal. extending their signal.
So you would then put your router near the window.. and connect all your pc’s to your router.
Just search google for your router brand to see how to enable and set up repeater mode.
If it doesn’t have it, get one that does. hehe..
