Blackberry Storm Update

Hello my fellow mates, I recently purchased a blackberry storm 9530 but the current version is 4.7.0.148 (platform 4.0.0.181).I tried updating from blackberry to 5.0 from blackberry desktop manager but it says:
THERE WAS AN ERROR UPDATING YOUR SOFTWARE

Please help me i would like to update to 5.0 i have been to everywhere but it doesnt work, you are my last hope.

Pay a fiver for blackberry email and blackberry messenger then it should work.

i have sworn to myself that I’m never gonna pay for anything on my Blackberry( yeah I know i’m stubborn ).the internet service on my blackberry is hacked and so are most of my softwares .isnt there any way i can do this without paying a “fiver” ? thanks for reply
