AMD Radeon 6950 or ASUS Radeon 6950?

October 2nd, 2013

Like the title says it all.
Which brand is better, and why? Please say your opinion, this is hard decision for me to choose between these two brand.
AMD;

ASUS;

I know both have the same specification and does brand really matter? ASUS have two cooling fans on the video card while AMD only have 1 jet fan or something. Suggestion please?
Also on the other note, please don’t come here to say “OMGZ GET NVIDIA, ATI SUX” because I’ve researched between these two, now mine choice is go with ATi as they have better hardware acceleration and more clearer in flash video (catch up tv shows) when nvidia isn’t clear enough for me.

AMD doesn’t make any of their own cards. so we basically don’t know any information about the first link. The ASUS DirectCU in the second link is ridiculous as it takes up 3 slots on it’s own. Surely those aren’t the only two choices? There’s MSI and Powercolor among other great brands.

Well. If you have a friend who own an ATi/AMD Radeon, why not you go to any catch up show. AMD work together with Adobe Flash and AMD have hardware acceleration, to make video clearer, and get image quality you want compare to your nvidia.
Why not you compare NVIDIA and ATI/AMD both using HDMI, you will see an answer.

Lol. You’re freaking unbelievable.

I don’t need to do that because I don’t want to waste my time.

To put it bluntly, the so called ‘research’ you did is pure ~lol~. Even the newer Intel GMA models supports hardware acceleration of Flash (which is actually H264 not Flash itself being accelerated). It’s nothing impressive nor new. I never asked you to buy Nvidia if you actually read my post all the way through I actually gave you my valid opinion on those two cards.
But who cares looks like you wont be listening to me anyway.

I have an Gigabyte GTX 460 768mb video card, tell me why video isn’t even clear on 27inch on catch up show? One of my mate who is on ATi/AMD who is also on 27 inch and their tv show is fully clearer, I don’t understand? Seriously why mine isn’t when his is?

You can try using your graphic card on your mate’s computer.
It might just be the monitor since there is only 5 possibilities in the equation.
1. The graphic card.
2. The monitor.
3. The video player.
4. The decoder.
5. The file in question.

As far as i understand. There is really no difference on AMD and Nvidia. (AMD has bourght ATI btw). They use the same technology but they got difference names for the same thing. When they counter each other with there new products they usely just adds a feature or clock the speed on one of there features. Amd and Nvidia has allways been battling and they are so close in there products that i really start to get bored with thees disgussions. Right now, your best choice is to get the product at the right time. This way you will get the lowest price and the best for your money. So when Nvidia release a new product you can allmost allways be sure there wont be long untill amd releases something to beat it. And vise versa. And to be honest the evolving of the products thees days is happening so fast that buying a product one month is old the next month.
Answer #7
If anything AMD cards are worse over HDMI as they are limited to 1920 x 1200 max.
As for image quality, both are capable of displaying perfectly.
Your information is wrong.
