512Mb of ram

my computer now has 2x 2gb ram in it has 4 ram slots so if i installed a 512mb ram stick would i notice a differences in speed or would i be wasting my time ?

well i want to get 2gb ddr3 ram but as i have only a little bit of money to spend i thought i would just use this 512mb ram i have

you can’t replace DDR2 (if that’s what you have now) with DDR3
with AIDA64 monitor your memory usage and if your constantly using most of your ram add the 512 and see if it’s any better

You’ll need a 64 os to utilize more than 4gb of system memory.

my computer can use upto 32gb of ram and it uses ddr3 ram

Because it upsets dual channeling, adding odd ram would probably slow it down..
You can use Aida64, memory benchmark tests, before and after, to see the effect.
