PS3 drive problem

January 22nd, 2020

So recently my PS3 stopped reading disks so I decided to open it and check which laser it has so I can buy a spare one. After opening it and checking which laser it has when I closed it and when I start it it always ejects the disk. Could there be a problem with the disk sensor? I also have to push the disk in quiet hard and the sensor light is not on so before i buy another sensor I just want to make sure that it is the sensor that is causing the problem. Anyone have any idea?

Yes I know the laser has died that is why I opened it to check which model laser it has so I can buy a replacement one. I just want to confirm that the broken sensor is causing the drive to eject at startup.

Yeah I figured it out. I watched a video on youtube about broken disk sensors and turns out mine is broken so I will have to get a new on. Thanks for your help though.
