My Micro SD Card detected as SD-Ext

August 7th, 2016

Hi,
First of all , sorry if this question is not supposed to be here.
I really need help , I just bought Sony Experia Miro / Mesona with 4GB Micro SD.
The problem is , 2GB of my phone storage was detected as Sd-Card whereas my Micro sd detected as SD-EXT. I can’t even install any big games. 2GB of my phone storage which is being detected as sd card were full , though I don’t know what could make it full since I didn’t even install anything.
The question is , How do I get my Micro SD detect as Sd card and is it normal for my 2GB Sd Card(Phone storage) to get full when I didn’t even install anything?

Answer #1
Nowadays the internal storage of the phone is labelled as sdcard and the external SD card bought is labelled as SDext.
Its normal. Try moving the media files in your phone to external SD to free up some space.
Also, in the play store, download apps2sd and it will show you the movable apps from phone storage to sdcard storage.
I’m not sure if 2gb of internal storage to get full is normal for a new phone.

Thanks for the reply , sir.
I’ve already tried apps2sd , when I tried moving my apps to sd card , it went into my sd card(internal storage) instead of external card. I wish to format this phone but afraid if something goes wrong since the partition is quite different than my old phone(Xperia X8) which has only one internal storage .

Have you tried doing a factory reset?
Try organizing and deleting unwanted files in SD card from the PC as its easier to sort and view the files.

I haven’t tried yet. Will try later and give my feedback later. Thanks sir , won’t forget this.
