It might be a bad burn what speed are you burning your games and what program are you using?
Burn at 16speed and use cloneCD

its not the discs, but i burn at 2x speed with aone discs
it does it even with original games, laser needs replacing.
Any other way to install to hard drive?

aone DVDs are crap and very cheap quality. Since you are getting the error with orignal disks too then you defiantly need a new laser. There is no other way of installing games on the HDD even if you use another 360 to install the game you will get error saying you installed the game using a different xbox so its not going to work. you need to get a new laser and put that in the drive.
