Microsoft Confirms New Xbox 360 Console Banning
>> From majornelson.com:
I've gotten a few messages and seen some forum threads pop up on console bannings so I thought I'd post and let folks know what's up. In our our continued effort to keep gameplay safe and secure for our community of more than 14 million members, Microsoft has taken action against a small percentage of Xbox 360 consoles that have been illegally modified in order to play pirated games. You should know that modifying your Xbox 360 console is also a violation of the Xbox LIVE terms of use, will void your warranty and result in a ban from Xbox LIVE. The health of the video game business depends on customers paying for the genuine products and services they receive, both from manufacturers and the local companies that support them. We will continue to employ and bolster anti-piracy security measures to counter piracy in the gaming industry and improve security in the Xbox LIVE community.

Hi,
I have no problems with sound on my PC, but when I watch streaming video, either in Firefox on IE, a lot of the videos, but no all, have a lot of crackling or distortion on them, especially noticable on louder parts of the videos. Like I said, this ONLY happens in a web browser. Here is an example of a youtube video in which the sound crackles a lot when the video gets louder: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rz1nFWHvmc8
Is this just how the videos are or is there something wrong with the sound on my PC? I do not have another machine to test these videos on.
Thanks
Answer #1
no issue with the clip here. Dont think your sound settings are just set to high somehow ?
Answer #2
OK so it appears its something on my PC. All my volume setttings in the control panel are set to 50%, so it shouldn’t be an issue. As this distortion only happens in flash videos in a web browser, are there any other settings/tweaks that I could try?
Answer #3
well i have no clue sorry,.

Hi guys
I have the As Rock N68C-GS FX motherboard and ive just been looking online i currently have 8gb ddr3 1600 mhz and was thinking about putting an extra 8 to make it 16gb but looking on the internet it says something about 8gb does this mean its the max amount of ram it will take ? and i cant put anymore than 8gb inside ?
http://www.game-debate.com/motherboard/index.php?mot_id=1436&motherboard=ASRock%20N68C-GS%20FX
Motherboard AS ROCK WEBSITE
http://www.asrock.com/mb/NVIDIA/N68C-GS%20FX/
thought id ask because if you cant might aswell save my money
NEVER MIND GUYS ONLY SUPPORTS UP TO 8GB WITH IT BEING AN OLD BOARD BUT TAKES UP TO 8 CORE AM3+ FX STRANGE YOU WOULD OF THOUGHT IT WOULD TAKE MORE THAN 8GB DDR3 IF IT SUPPORTS SUCH A UP TO DATE CPU
Answer #1
You won’t really see any performance gains, will make the OS boot slower as more crap is loaded into the memory.
Unless you have an SSD.
Answer #2
i was thinking of upgrading from a quad core to a 6 core
is it worth it ? or again not much difference ?

Without knowing more details, I can’t answer that!
Which exact CPUs are you referring to? Which graphic card do you have?
And what are you gonna be doing?
Certain apps and games can benefit from more cores.
Also, In some cases a better CPU can give you more FPS in certain games.
You won't really see any performance gains, will make the OS boot slower as more crap is loaded into the memory.
Unless you have an SSD.
I know the OP has already gotten his answer (Mobo can’t handle more than 8 gigs)
But nevertheless I’d still like to comment what on you said (Which is complete nonsense btw!)
RAM usage is determined by the OS and the Apps/Games you run after it has loaded.
Just because you add additional RAM, It does NOT mean that out of nowhere, Usage will
go higher! And also, As long as the RAM is not fully utilized, There’s no performance penalty (Once that happens, Windows starts using the pagefile, aka “virtual memory”) and there’s certainly
no correlation between the RAM amount or usage to whether you have an SSD or not.
An SSD will certainly increase the performance of the OS and Apps, But again, It’s unrelated
to the RAM.

Hey guys, wondering if you could help solve my problem…
I’m living in college residences, so my internet use is somewhat under control by the powers that be. anyway, i can download from sites like microsoft.com or msn.com at decent speeds, 60kbps, but when it comes to , i get speeds of less that 1kbps with ~ Spam ~ and the others. i have a premium account so thats not the problem. I also cant use torrents because the ports are blocked. any ideas on how to solve these problems or alternative ways to download ?
any help would be appreciated, its been a month since i last saw prison break and im having withdrawal symptoms!
Answer #1
Well I have satellite internet and my ISP is behind another ISP’s proxy because the use the bigger ISP’s network (optusnet) which means I can’t use torrents nor can i use P2P appz, and because its satellite internet and it doesn have a router, I can’t port forward. So I think my internet is like your connect at college because of the same reasons kinda. As for your rs download speed, i am not sure. I download at 60kbs also but when i download from rs it only get 23kbs-35kbs so we have similar issues…
Answer #2
i have similar issues, just that sometimes the download goes 0.0kbps and cancels itself (happens most of the time for me) and i’m sick of it.. i can’t download anything :'( but it happens even in my school so i think the problem is not the ISP but my laptop… =/
Answer #3
Torrents and P2P ports being blocked isn’t altogether unexpected it was bound to happen eventually. Rapidshare to my knowledge is USUALLY a very legit business so I would think it’s grounds to complain to your ISP about inadequate speeds. Have you tried downloading software off other HTTP servers? are you experiencing issues with them as well?
Answer #4
Thanks for the responses guys, i just tried downloading with firefox, (i was using chrome before) and it claims its getting 25kbps but i can see that it is not. it seems it keeps disconnecting from the server and reconnecting, so it will download at 25kbps for 30 seconds, then download nothing for 2 minutes before it carries on downloading, very frustrating! I think its a similar problem to
and netload and megaupload have the same issues…
EDIT: I just paused and resumed the download and it shot up to 100kbps!! not much I know but its a big change. hopefully ill be able to download a download manager now to sort this out!

Friends i have Dell Inspiron N5110 Ci7 2.0-2.9 Ghz 6 Gb Ram 650 Gb Harddisk With Nividia Geforce GT525M 1 GB Graphic Card. Problem is when i run the games after playing 35 to 40 min system Automatically powered off i check back side of the laptop and i feel its heat too much what should i do to prevent this Auto powered off while playing the games. Is this heating problem or some thing else ???
Answer #1
could be a heating problem due to dust in the fan. Try blowing out the dust from the fan and if you know ow to open up the case to give it a more thorough clean.
Answer #2

Use external cooling pads usb powered i too faced same issue with Farcry 3 game just plugged in and now i finished game without issues'
You are right i face this issue after playing Far Cry 3 before that i play other games for hours never happen this. Can u named me what Cooling pads u used i mean which company, name and price ???
Answer #4
that works too @ but if the fan is clogged with dust then he will run into issues down the line even if he has a laptop cooler.
Answer #5
Do what and mentioned and:
– Clean out the dust from your laptop’s vents
– Purchase a cooling pad
Also, ensure that your laptop is always on a hard, flat surface when running under heavy load to allow proper airflow under the laptop. To be completely honest though, you’re going to damage your laptop if you keep playing games that it can’t handle. You should consider investing in a gaming Desktop/gaming console for any serious gaming
Answer #6
I don’t see a need for a cooling pad, Proper cleaning & Re-applying thermal paste would do.
You should refer to your laptop’s service manual:
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/insN5110/en/sm/heatsink.htm#wp1187752
Also, You your gonna have to purchase a number of things to accomplish this task:
1. Thermal Paste, Can be found in any local computer store, I recommend you go with Arctic cooling MX-4.
2. Pure alcohol bottle of 90% purity or higher (can be found at most commercial pharmacies, And by commercial I mean ones that serve the general public, Not one in your nearby clinic)
I’d advise against using a 70% one, It doesn’t evaporate completely and leaves water residue!
3. Cotton balls & Q-Tips (which you’ll use in conjunction with the alcohol to clean up the thermal paste from the Heatsink/CPU) these can be found at any supermarket.
4. A small paint brush (to clean up the dust) can be found at any hardware store:

Goodluck!

What the ~ censored ~…
I first received 2 messages, not listed as “Spam”, a few weeks ago from “adultfriendfinder”.
It first sent a message that I need to login to activate, and a few days later sent a message saying that I didn’t log in yet and that it’s important that I’ll log in soon or the account “won’t be listed”.
I didn’t log in into that, but I didn’t receive another Email to know if it actually deleted that account that was created… I’m not sure how.
Now I’ve looked in the spam directory, and I keep getting messages from “fling” or something saying “Blah blah blah has checked your profile!”, “Blah blah blah wants to be listed in your blah blah”.
At least it shows pictures of women and not some strange old men, but WTF is this?
This time it didn’t even send a message about registration.
If there really was a registration in both websites, how the hell did it happen?
If it happened twice, for real, does it mean that it’s most likely an automatic registration from a spam system?
Because I get dozens of spam Emails every day for some reason. Probably, somehow about a 1000,000 different spam systems got my Email address.
Answer #1
just report it as a spam with your email host.
Answer #2
It doesn’t do anything.
It just moves it to spam and I still get messages.
And anyway – that won’t delete the accounts. If there are actually ones and it’s not a pure spam.
Answer #3
join the club I get about 40 a day most emai address especialy if used for forums will sooner or later be harvested and subject to this spam
Answer #4
i think you should change your email id to some really unchachy name awkward name like user24842008424 @ your mail host . com
coz many spammers dont get your email directly they guess an id and send spam to that like suppose mike @ mail.com
Answer #5
It’s not obvious, and I don’t think that they “guess” it anyway.
I keep getting spam, more every day, so they got it from another website probably or through some spyware.
The thing is that I even get spam from “myself”.
I hope that those faggots don’t use my address for other people as well.
I don’t see the logic in using it for the specific person, but I get so many from “myself” that it’s just too much.
If it does that with other people as well “I’m” probably 50% of other people’s spam folder.
Answer #6
its probably not frm you just spoofed to look that way unless your pc is hijacked and is now part of a spamming bot net
Answer #7
I didn’t say that it’s actually from me.
I don’t know how does it work exactly but someone here already said about that that there are softwares to fake it.
But it doesn’t matter as it still send spam using my address which is not wanted, obviously, and the amount I get from “myself” is just huge.
Answer #8
sorry to say there is nothing you can doo about other than change your address annd inform all contacts of the change
Answer #9
change your address or just mark everything as spam. If you want for your email to be completely spam free, you are living in a wonderland.

We have a BT home hub, black…
I am wirelessly connected upstaires, along with a phone, psp, xbox, wii..
My computer, about once/twice a day will disconnect, and refuse to re connect untill i reset the router…Which is a PITA!!
All other devices work correctly…
Am i correct in thinking i have a duff wireless card?
Any help appreciated.
Answer #1
Does it do it after prolonged periods of inactivty, or just randomly? Check in the power options, and go to the wireless section to see what performance level it’s set to. It might be powering the device down for power savings, and not kicking back in properly. If all your other stuff is fine, then it might be worth buying a new one to test with.
Answer #2
Could also be a ISP problem. If it’s not what said, then you should call them and ask for support.
Answer #3
Haha, I have recently had problems with my HomeHub losing broadband service. It seems to happen whenever the phone is answered or in use. See if that is the problem with yours as well.
I have a little conspiracy theory, that BT are purposely making their service bad to force people to upgrade to BT Infinity when it comes out. Either that, or they are just having problems with the network as they are updating loads of the cabinets to take fiber optics.
Answer #4
Its random…
What would be a new good one to buy??
—–
Phoned them, she said the connection was fine, she was about as much use as a chocolate teapot.

I will monitor that, thanks, my comp is upstairs, and the phone is dwn, so i will keep check on that!
Thanks for the help so far.

Answer #7
I found an overclockers one for 18…
It goes up to “n” security or speed whatever it is..
On my hub settings it says its b/g/n …?? thanks
Answer #8
Check your router stats on the routers webpage.
Then get RouterStats Lite and log what happens to see if there is an increase in line noise which might be causing the issue.

I’ve just downloaded it, and it doesnt have my router!!??
Answer #10
RouterStat/Lite only supports a few routers, but can be made to work with others if manually setup to do so. It doesn’t support mine but I managed to get it working.
There are some annoying bugs in it though which means it has to be re-setup each time it is ran. It gets the Adjacent text wrong if there are spaces in it. So spaces need to be inserted every time it is started.
Answer #11
Could you explain how i set it up manually plz?

Download 3.14mb/s, in reality, it never ever ever gets near that, rarely a 1/6 of it.
