Xbox 360 Banned (back in the ban wave)

I got banned in the big banwave in november. Now I’m going to buy a new 360 to go legal with it. Now I was wondering, my gamertag didn’t get banned, would there be any harm in using that gamertag on my new xbox or should I just make a new gamertag?

no, no harm at all. only thing banned was your xbox’s serial #.

my flatmate had a few problems with his gamertag. I can’t remember the exact fix, but he formatted the hard drive he’d used on my banned Xbox and recovered his gamertag. Before that it kept giving him errors. He only lost a few achievement points.
