Vista/Win7:
Control panel -> Programs -> Uninstall ‘Windows Live Messenger’
XP
Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> Uninstall ‘Windows Live Messenger
This app doesnt come with windows update. You need to remove the program itself. Alternatively, you can navigate to it’s installation directory and run the ‘uninstall.exe’ file.

there IS Nothing in the control panel which will allow me to remove this thing..i’ve even used ‘youruninstaller’ got the reg clean but it still is in my hard drive..
..bloody piece of ****…another brilliant move from mircosoft, no doubt!
to whom it may concern…I’ve found the solution to this damn problem..I just finished “re-storing to a date 4 days before…All is normal once again”

Use zapmessenger to unistall it http://messengergeek.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!E3785B1281BBDA1!1118.entry
Then use this to unistall everything else to do with Windows Live http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Secure-cleaning/Windows-Installer-CleanUp-Utility.shtml Then you should be able to reinstall the old one. Thats Windows Live Sign in assistant that remembers your password, unistall that from add/remove programs after you’ve reinstalled Windows Live
Answer #6
If you have installed MSN through windows update then you need to go to Uninstall a program and then view installed updates.

Thanks man,i’m now downloading it and i’m gonna try it.I really hope it gonna work.I’m not the type of person that quit of a software problem that is difficult to fix but now i m on the edge to leave it that way and just live without msn because i tried the maybe 6 HOURS and still couldn’t fix it..
Edit:
Hey man,i tried revo uninstaller but you know where i get stuck???Listen,i choose to uninstall live essentials with revo but after a while revo connects to the live essentials own uninstall method and then i get stuck.. ,it doesn’t do anything when i ask to delete essentials.
Even with Ruvo uninstaller i couldn t install Msn..
