Windows 7 Enterprise

August 19th, 2013

HI
i have a 320 gb hard drive and a usb 2.0 to SATA Enclosure
i’ve been trying to install windows 7 enterprise but i keep getting a error when it asks me to choose disk.
it says
windows cannot be installed to this disk. setup does not support configuration of or installion to disks connected through usb or ieee 1394 port.
windows cannot be installed to this disk. this computer hardware may not support booting to this disk, ensure that the disk controller is enabled in the computer bios menu.
i have also taken the harddrive out of the usb to sata adapter and inserted it in the laptop it self but it gets stuck on the windows logo.
I checked the internet to see if i could get some hints so i went to the microsoft website http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2345135 and it told me to change the san policy which i have done but im still getting the same problem.
does anyone know what this problem could be and how may i sort it out?
Thanx in advance.

Wondering why you are trying to install it that way (via a USB enclosure) – is there a specific reason, like the laptop has a dud optical drive, if so you can install via a flash drive.
Answer #2
Unless you have a paid for key, Don’t install Enterprize..
It is not used in OEM installations and therefore there are no keys available for it to be used in Windows Loader by Daz.
Only unsatisfactory and unreliable activators can be used.
Whereas Ultimate is OK.

i got given the usb enclosure and have inserted the HDD in the laptop too, but that wouldn’t work, just easier having the HDD in the usb closure.
thanx guys

How did you reach that conclusion? Just wondering.
