Why are Ex. HDs from Western Digital so expensive now?

August 16th, 2013

I remember seeing a 1 TB from WD going for like 99-109$.
But now, I see some going for almost double the price. What brought this on?

Where do you come from? Are you from Australia? If you are from Australia, remember we pay more because from Julia Gillard, and dont forget next year in July 2011, carbon tax will be introduced which means we will pay more double then what we paying now in foods, pc parts or any stuff.

Actually, drives have gone down (still not close to the price 1 year ago) and so by the end of the year, it should go back to the original pricing.
