What is best for VIDEO PRODUCTION AMD OR INTEL PLATFORM?

I need to make some projects with special effects like matte painting with max and after effects
and I need to buy one great pc for production
what do you think is better ?

Intel Core i7 Extreme(If you can afford) or Normal

Also Since you’re in GFX, You should really get a good Graphic card for running Heavy Applications. I have ATI Radeon HD 5850 Or depending upon your budget

why a 5850 get a 6***series graphics card, and if your on a budget AMD Phenom II 6 core processor should work a treat :p.
