What in the world has happened to my pc?

Guys I opened opera and firefox to use because I use both browsers at the same time. Well my pc froze and I had to power it off with the power button. When I turned it back on all it did was get to the windows screen and nothing happened. Go into system repair and than I was able to boot up to the desktop, but than none of my browsers would connect to the internet.
I opended firefox in safe mode and still it will not connect. I rebooted the pc but than once again the only way i could get back to the desktop was for me to do system repair.
I can ping google, yahoo, etc and my router , but I cannot open my router in my browser. My firewall is showing a pop up of AD Peak Proxy which is malware, but none of my malware software is finding it.
Could that be the problem? I tried updating my malware database but it will not connect to the internet either.
At the end of system repair it shows “number of root causes = 1 OS loaded succesfully”
Please help guys I have no idea what to do.

Check your proxy settings. Malware may have changed the settings to prevent you from accessing Internet.
