Problem is, when I am done on my machine I want to put it back to sleep. Anyone knows other programs (freeware plz) that can wake on lan but also put the computer back in sleep mode.
I searched but did not find anything useful at all.
After you set up your sleep settings, you will find that your computer tries to sleep, but immediately reboots. This is caused by signals from your router. In the router settings, you must make an ipfilter rule to stop traffic to your pc ip address on the local network. Your pc will immediately go to sleep after the rule is applied. You can waken up the pc with a third party software like WOL magic packet sender or Nirsoft Wake on Lan. Then you can make a windows Remote Desktop Connection if you have set the computer to allow being controlled that way via the Control Panel/system/Remote Settings choices. Configure the power settings for the pc to go to sleep after 1 minute of inactivity to see quick results.
