Video Editor Help

Well i have two questions:
One: What is a good editor for .Mov files (similar to windows movie maker)
And Two: WMM freezes frequently and i don’t know why. It is not my hardware because i have 2 gigs of RAM and i am running XP. I need some other explanation then hardware because i can play fallout 3 on max settings (as a example) Thanks for the help in advance

theres loads out there, i use premiere elements and pro good luck
