Turn Off Wired Xbox 360 Controller

August 3rd, 2016

Installed a wired Xbox 360 controller on my Vista x64 machine. When I boot up after shutting down my controller turns on and I don’t see how to turn it off. I am able to turn it off by entering a game then exiting but I’d like to be able to just shut it off. I’ve tried waiting several minutes for it to shut down itself though maybe I haven’t waited long enough and pressing the guide button but neither work.
Thanks

I dont know if it work for wire or not. I use this program for my wireless xbox controller. Its call Xbox360 Controller Manager.
After opening the program. I just hold the BIG X button in the middle of the controller. Between back and start. FOr a few second then a pop up on desktop will ask if I want to turn off controller. A = yes B = No

Everyone know that. Its easier to just sit there and turn it on when want to play and turn off when dont want to. Instead of plug it in then unplug.

Thanks. I read about that program so maybe I’ll give it a try. As far as unplugging and re-plugging, if I do that routinely, will my PC have to go through the installation/recognition process each time?
Thanks for replying.

No, that’s just once. When it’s installed, and you replug it, it will just say “blomp” and it will work Like any USB device.
