Thanking on TOPICS.

Why do OPs(topic starters) or Uploaders want the downloaders to post thanks?
I’m really curious about this. Does that increases the post count of the OP too?
P.S: I’ve always thanked everyone i downloaded from. I do it coz OPs put alot of hardwork into their works.

I’ve always thought its good manners on this site…as we dont have a ‘reputation’ system based soley on ‘thanks’ recieved.
But i think its so that uploaders can make a name for themselves here (as trusted/reliable uploaders)

It’s also to bump their topics to the top for more exposure.

By thanking them in the topics, you bring their topic to the first page of the forum and this will result in more exposure for their topics. = more views/downloads. That’s why, and also of course for the simple reason of thanking them for sharing

some people make fake accounts just to bump their topics up to the top as well by saying thanks or such to do it

To keep it alive for sure. By thanking.. it will make the thread stay on page one which many will only look at. Also its actually does courage to future upload.
Nothing beat an long upload and end up getting tons of download but no thanks x.x

i reckon this question is an original no-brainer , and i have seen it a lot of words wasted on discussing it on many sites for a lot of years … imho you shouldn’t have to ask why say thanks …
