IMO if you don’t know the benefits of jailbreaking your iDevice then there really isn’t a reason to do it.

if you go onto youtube and have a look it is a lot easier but ill try help,
ok so you will need to go to manage, sources then click on add sources
click on edit, add you then add cydia.hackulo.us/
once you have added that go into it and download appsync for OS 3.x depending on what your ipod is running on if it has firware 3.1 or 3.0 download the corresponding appsync
you will also need Installous, that is where you download the cracked games from or you can go to http://appulo.us/ to download the games,
if you download the games from appulo then you drag them into your itunes and then they will be ready to be played BUT you must have appsync for OS 3.x for this to work
go back into cydia and go to the search tab, search winterboard and then install it. it will be a little icon with two funny face looking things.
winterboard is your theme manager and ill tell you how to download themes and there will be an icon on your ipod’s home screen thingy
i will now tell you how to use winterboard with a random theme
you go to cydia again and you go to the sections tab and go down to themes (springboard)
download the first one, which should be a bad theme
once that has finished downloading go out of cydia and open up winterboard, you should then see a screen with many different things on it such as user wallpaper, transparent dock, solid status bar etc. etc.
there should be on called “a bad theme” click on that one until a tick appears next to the name then quit out of winterboard and the screen should frezze and a little loader wheel should come up. your ipod will then reboot and then you should have that theme
there are thousands of different things in cydia so just look through all of the different sections and if you see something you think you’ll like then test it out. it isnt very hard and you get use to it after a while
but look on youtube lots such as “my top 10 themes for ipod” or something like that and you will find some that you like and then you can download them by searching for them in cydia

also you might want to search “how to SSH on your ipod” in youtube because you can then look at your ipod files on your computer and it is very useful. you can also mix and match your downloaded themes such as if you like a few bits of one theme and some more of another you can create a new file and merge the two to have an awesome theme that you love.

haha yeah no worries mate it is sooo good once you learn how to use it
and remember youtube stuff from now on
and make sure you learn how to SSH it makes it sooo much better
and make sure you get (i think this is it) sbsettings once you have installed it and the ipod has rebooted you slide your finger along the top where your battery is shown and the time and a little thing will drop down
it is basically just a quick setting menu but i like it it makes it easier to adjust the brightness and stuff
