[SOLVED] Cant Connect to Internet on Firefox

October 6th, 2013

As the title says, i cant connect to the internet on Firefox 8 (portable), it says im not connected to the internet, check your internet connection, etc. I can connect to Internet Explorer fine, not perfectly (coz it crashes quite a lot, dont know why). Ive tried previous versions of Firefox portable, it still doesnt work. I know its not the portable file, because it worked before i did a fresh Vista install on my computer.
So are there any suggestions?

Answer #1
2 things to check:
1- Do you have a firewall & does it allow FF?
2- Is there a proxy and does FF connection setting matches it accordingly?
Answer #2
I didnt have a firewall installed, but i just turned Windows Firewall ON and then allowed FF but it still give me the same problem.
Also what do you mean proxy, i connect my laptop to my home router wirelessly, it connects automatically when i start my laptop
Any other suggestions mate?

Because its IE, that’s what it does best, crash and burn.

Windows 7 > Vista

You can start by disabling Windows imitation firewall.

Firefox > Options > Advanced > Connection > Settings
If you don’t know what a proxy is, you probably don’t have one, make sure its disabled.

Ive disable the Windows Firewall.
