maybe you can RMA it. here’s a good article on this. http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=165635remember that hard drives were never intended for permanent storage, and back them up.

I’ve read a few threads on other forums, seems like the only option is to get a new drive.
I really wish I could back the files up, but using it is extremely slow.
Idunno about the RMA, I had a guy put the rig together 3-4 years ago.

After selecting the HDD and clicking start, nothing happened for like an hour.

20,000 hours of usage? It’s had a good life, let it die in peace.
EDIT: then again I suppose that 20k hours is only 2.3 years 24/7 which is really only half the life of a standard drive. So, hmmm. I’d back up what I can and RMA the drive

I guess I could’ve used it more responsibly Image
Oh well, it’s served its purpose, I was planning on buying a new one anyway (and combining them, but oh well).
