[resolved] How to make an iPod stock.

do a system restore
I'm selling my iPod 3G to a friend so I can upgrade. I want to know the best way to "wipe" it. It's running 4.1 fw and it's jailbroken if that matters. But my ultimate goal is to make it like I just bought it... No personal data of any kind left behind. No jb data as well. Nothing. Same with my iTunes and cydia account. Need all that data to be non existant. Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide.
Download 4.1 IPSW and do Restore ( SHIFT + Restore )!

So the restore will make it so you have to associate a new iTunes account in the ap store etc.? Last time i hit upgrade and it left a whole slew of data on it. The restore will completely format it?

Restore of iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad is same as FORMAT HDD!

summed it up…doing the restore instead of a update will completely erase all data off your ipod…it will be back to the day you got it
EDIT cant he just hit restore when its connected in itunes and have aple download new version automatically then have it installed instead of him personally going to a site and downloading the file…
