ps2 + swap magic + burning games

i just recieved my swap magic today, ofc i burned a game before it came.
so swap magic worked well, the game started up but now it’s slow.
it looks like ps2 has problems with reading the dvd.
now i burned it 4x, so yeh, should i burn it slower ? use different dvd’s or smth?
i used an dvd-r

You always want to burn DVDs at slower speeds…slower speeds = less errors. I burn all DVDs at 1x or 2.4x and have very few problems. The type of DVD always matters a great deal. I try to stick with Sony and Verbatim (but mostly Verbatim). But with many gaming consoles its hit-or-miss with what brand of DVDs work. For example on my Wii I can use memorex DVDs while my friends (same mod chip and disc) can’t at all. I would suggest to trying a few different brands but usually verbatim is a safe bet.

thx m8, il try on MUCH lower speed now, and a different dvd.
just wanted to make sure its NOT the ps2 :p
coz the game boots up fine, just yeh, stutters and has trouble reading the dvd so.

Nah I regularly have to make one or two versions of games (especially when using low grade DVDs) because or “Disc Read Errors” mid-game.

ok, just burned it again, with the same make of dvd’s just from 4.0x => 2.0, and now it has troubles starting up :S

What DVD brand are you using? That is most likely the problem.

So clearly those DVDs are low quality. I would assume that is your problem. I think you need to buy some higher quality blanks; I would suggest first buying a single disc or 3 pack and test out a few brands. If one works particularly well buy a nice big spindle. I just got a 100 pack of Verbatim DVD+Rs for 10.99 at www.buy.com for 10.99 after rebate….not bad for the quality. But don’t solely take my advice…like I said buy a few singles or 3 packs and test them out.

ok i got it to work, idd the brand of dvd MATTERS alot , thx alot echo m8, saved my ps2 from flying through teh window.
im using dvd =>eron dvd+r
