Program for checking if DVDs skip
February 7th, 2020
So since this problem I have been watching every DVD from start to finish after I burn them to make sure they don’t skip but I am getting tired of doing at this stage as I would prefer to watch the DVDs at my leisure rather then forcing myself to watch them just to make sure they don’t skip in order to be able to delete them from my hard drive.
So my question is, is their a program or anything where I could just put the DVD into my laptop and it would just scan it or something to make sure it doesn’t skip to save me having to sit through every individual DVD. Because I have two hard drives full of films and my computer is nearly full as well so I need to free up some space ASAP. Thanks in advance. I always use the same brand of DVDs the problem just seems to appear randomly. I use Nero to burn them and use the Verification thing on it but doesn’t detect if the DVD is going to skip.
Maybe you could try burning with the lowest burn speed, apparently that fixes some problems. Oh yeah and keep doing that Verification thing
I already do burn at the lowest speed 2x but the problem still happens sometimes. I use to burn at much higher speeds and they always use to skip but burning at lower speed improved all that. Thanks.
You could try using a different burner….maybe something like ConvertXtoDVD and select the downloaded file~ Folders are not allowed ~ through that?

That looks like the job Cheers
It’s the one I use on important dvd burns – for movies I just use the “verify” option on ImgBurn.
Kprobe with Lite-On burners. Forget the rest.
I presume you are cleaning the lazer lens regularly. I do it after 25 burns or so. The discs are cheap, about 1, and have tiny brushes on them.
Does it give the problems when playing back on the same burner you made it on ?
If so then dirty lens or faulty burner.
If another player then you could have some sort of misalignment compatibility problems..
