Problem with joining a splitted file which has no extensions

March 12th, 2020

Well, I downloaded a torrent, NFS Carbon Collector’s Edition, and then there were splitted files in it. I joined them with hjsplit, but the joined file has no extensions. When I open it with rar and extract it, it says that filename.000 is needed to continue the extraction, but there’s no file with an extension of .000 in it. I thought it may not be a rar file and I opened it as a iso and tried to open it with Alchohol 120% but still, it doesn’t work. What might be the problem?
Here’s the screenshot after I joined the splitted files with hjsplit:

Answer #1
Right click the very first split file “rzr-nfsc.001 and hit “Open” then choose winrar. Then simply drag and drop the file out
Answer #2
so you started with 1 torrent file & extracted 1-85 from it ?
if you open .001 with winrar what’s in it ?
Answer #3
An iso is in it. But I solved the problem I guess. Thanks for the help, much appreciated.
Answer #4
An iso is in it
yup
just extract that iso & your good yo go

That is one of problems with HJSplit, it removes the extensions of files so if you have a bunch of split files that are named “file.001”, “file.002” the new file will be named file (without an extension, even though there is supposed to be one). It usually would happen when splitting the file using an online script. Winrar is much better than HJSplit
Good luck mate ^_^
