Power Button on Desktop PC Problem (HELP!)

January 26th, 2020

Yesterday, I opened up my desktop pc and removed some of my hardware such as the CPU, MEMORY RAM, HARD DRIVE, CD DRIVE because I wanted to take pictures of them so I can sell them on eBay, as I’m upgrading my computer. I did this successfully, and put the same hardware back in my desktop pc. I had trouble turning on the PC and then discovered that the restart button had now become the button which turns on the computer, and the power button was now the restart button. Is there any way I can change the buttons actions to how it was before.
I hope any of you guys understand what I mean…
Thanks.

Answer #1
I think you changed the wires that connect the two buttons, try and look for little connector wires that should be in the motherboard , they should be easy to find.
(the litle wires are usually around the wires that connect the led lights on your pc case, if you have any that is.)
Answer #2
Read your motherboard manual. There’s an instruction on how to plugin your Power/reset wires in mobo.

Answer #3
Also, just wanted to tell you guys that the led light on my computer is staying red, what does that mean???
Thanks.
Answer #4
power failure probably about the last question
Answer #5
you reversed the power & hard drive wires more than likely
there should be a block on the mobo that has 4-6 plugs on it, flat 2 or 3 wire plugs
plugs & mobo should be marked what they are, match them up
