Portable vs. Non

January 22nd, 2020

I am about to download Photoshop CS3 and was wondering, go for the regular thing, or download the portable? I figured the portable would not have everything, is that true?
Answer #1
No, the portable might have everything but I would still recommend the full version. Since portable versions don’t require the same installation as normal version do, several registry keys might not be added. I wouldn’t recommend portable appz at all actually but that’s just because I like having everything installed properly on my PC
Good luck mate ^_^

Yes they can be missing some stuff and also be slower to run because they have to load in stuff each time that would normally be installed..
Still handy to have when you need them ‘portable’

Yeah Matter of fact get both, One for Your home and work/school. I like my portable though, its fit all my needs so far.

no mate, sometime people modify the original to make it portbale and can cause serious issues, so just downlad the full thing
Answer #5
For my mind, go portable – the full install of photoshop is some 20 time the size of the portable, and ALL that extra is fluff and crap. My portable is 58 Mb and is midding nothing, and works without fail!
Answer #6
Use portables when you’re in School Universities and Offices wherein you’re not allowed to install any especially when they installed that wicked DeepFreeze (lol). Install non-portables/full versions in your home pc. Full versions are better.

Answer #7
I always try the portable first, because remember even if you decide to later remove/ uninstall an app it still leaves crap all over your registry. But with a portable app 80% of the time there just as good if not better then the full version because of size & garbage left behind, depending on who made it portable. But then again you have people that dont know what there doing, or dont bother testing on a different computer before releasing their portable app. So if you know what you want & will not uninstall & have plenty of room go full, for all other times portable is the way to try first.

if it’s ur own pc install full.
portable photoshop cs tends to run slower with brush strokes and filters (well from what I’ve notice)
